Primary Duties and Responsibilities, other duties maybe assigned as business needs determine: 1.Primary Task (50%) Completes Projects – Plans, conducts and implements research, development, or engineering assignments generally involving several high impact, high complexity manufacturing process projects. Coordinates the work of Engineers, Technicians, and other support personnel. Interacts with suppliers/customers, product design, manufacturing, accounting, purchasing and product management. Responsible for delivery of the following: - Clearly defined & documented project requirements - Project schedule(s). - Resource estimates/resource plan - Cost estimates/cost targets - Budget monitoring - Successful team building and teamwork - Write capital expenditure requests - Data collection & analysis - Status reports and final reports - Analysis of alternative - Verification and validation - Design reviews/process design - Process documentation - Production training - Project schedule adjustment - Project coordination/project closure and critique 2.Second Task (25%) Production Support – Works on miscellaneous manufacturing process problems dealing with production down time, loss of or low efficiency, or quality deviations. Responsible for delivery of the following: - Standard cost by operation - Identifying opportunities for improvement - Priorities of opportunities - Analysis of alternatives - Corrective actions - Capable processes - Production uptime - Current process documentation - Gauging - Product disposition recommendation - Consultation on drawings - Consultation on process - Purchase of manufacturing equipment - Floor layouts - Ergonomic/safety assessments - Capacity/utilization studies - Project coordination - Failure analysis 3.Third Task (15%) Technical Recommendations to Suppliers and Internal Manufacturing - Risk analysis - Recommendations on new technologies - Identifies major “Engineering process” improvement opportunities - Provides constructive feedback in design reviews - Provides recommendations on manufacturing systems - Transfer of knowledge to engineers - Coaching product design for manufacturing 4.Communication and Documentation (10%) - Technical reports - Status reports - Technical presentations to Engineering/Directors/Oregon Tool - Monthly Reports - Open communication channels Education: Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline Knowledge & Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience. Skills/Abilities: Core competencies: Demonstrated skills in continuous learning, flexibility, customer focus, quality commitment and good relationships are required. Availability: Available to work on site as required by job. Must be willing to travel domestically or internationally.
