Research Project Management - Initiate and manage mid to long term research projects in the area of flow chemistry and formulation enhanced recycling and closeloop application of plastic materials. - Supports interaction, communication, and collaboration with key business partner to better understand unmet customer needs and identify product development opportunities. - Collaborate with BASF R&D, business and production teams, develop technical solutions using existing and new technologies, methods etc., to enable sustainable business. - Regularly discuss, exchange and align activities with internal partners and global team. - Feel comfortable to work in multicultural and international team environment.
Scientific Research - Proactively observe, analyze and assess scientific and technical trends/ literatures in materials preparation techniques. - Transform the objectives into work plans for lab team, analyze & interpret experimental results. - Supports the development of new, more efficient, and safer experimental processes. - Feel comfortable and capable to conduct experiments in the lab. - Good presentation skill, and proper documentation.
Lab Team Leadership - Develop, motivate, inspire and provide technical guidance to lab assistants. - Comply with regulations concerning safety, health and environment and implement.
Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry and Polymer science relevant major. - Hands-on experience in flow chemistry, green chemistry, formulation development (including PhD period) is preferred - Broad knowledge of material characterization for chemical products - Experience on PU and PA recycling and closeloop application is highly preferred. - Well acquainted with standard IT applications, fluent written and spoken communication skills in English. - A proactive team player, who shows initiative and a self-starter with an outgoing personality who can seize opportunities and move projects forward.
