Key Responsibilities: 1. Product Development & Strategy: Develop and execute the air freight product strategy to align with company goals. Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to enhance service offerings. Create innovative air freight solutions for different industry verticals (e.g., retail, automotive, pharma, electronics). 2. Carrier & Supplier Management: Build and maintain relationships with airlines, GSAs (General Sales Agents), and charter operators. Negotiate rates, space allocations, and service agreements with carriers to secure competitive pricing. Ensure service reliability by selecting high-quality carriers and partners. 3. Pricing & Procurement: Develop and manage air freight rate structures and pricing models. Work with regional and global teams to ensure competitive procurement strategies. Ensure profitability while maintaining a balance between cost-effectiveness and service quality. 4. Operations & Service Excellence: Oversee air freight operations, ensuring timely and efficient cargo movement. Work closely with warehouse, customs, and ground handling teams for seamless logistics. Implement best practices in capacity planning, transit time optimization, and shipment tracking. 5. Sales & Business Development Support: Provide commercial teams with pricing, market insights, and product updates to support sales growth. Assist in customer presentations, RFQs, and bid management for large accounts. Develop tailored solutions to meet strategic customer demands. 6. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to local and international regulations (IATA, CAAC, customs, etc.). Monitor compliance with security, safety, and environmental standards in air cargo operations. Mitigate risks related to service disruptions, cargo handling, and compliance violations. Key Requirements: Experience: 5-10 years in air freight forwarding, with a proven track record in product management, procurement, or operations. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of air cargo carriers, pricing structures, customs clearance, and supply chain management. Negotiation Skills: Ability to secure competitive rates and space with airlines and service providers. Analytical & Commercial Acumen: Experience in cost analysis, revenue forecasting, and P&L management. Communication & Leadership: Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with sales, operations, and external partners. Language Skills: Fluency in English and Mandarin is preferred. Technical Skills: Familiarity with air freight software (CargoWise, Cargospot, or similar) is a plus.
