Title: Commodity Manager - Asia Report to: Asia Corporate Sourcing Director Position Summary: We’re seeking a strategic and results-driven Commodity Manager to lead end-to-end procurement strategies for Mechanical across Asia. The position is responsible for developing and implementing cost-reducing strategies, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, managing supplier relationships, driving supply chain resiliency and overseeing procurement activities. This role also monitors market trends, identifies critical materials and technology, and supports key stakeholders in their procurement needs. Key Responsibilities: Commodity Strategy & Management: - Provide leadership and direction for the category core team related to all aspects of procurement and develop key strategies to support future business success. - Collaborate with the Global Commodity Leader to support global commodity strategies and execution, providing regional insights on pricing trends, supplier capabilities and market risks. Supply Chain Resillency: - Drive China localization sourcing initiatives, ensuring alignment and meet localization requirements to support local business. - Work with oversea Operation Companies to execute China+1 risk mitigation plans, identifying altervative suppliers outside China and developing a phased transition plan for critical suppliers. Supplier Relationship Management: - Lead the development of a low-cost and high quality suppliers within commodity throughout Asia to drive QDCI improvement across the Operating Companies internationally. - Assess supplier capabilities performance, leading Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and supplier reviews for all strategic suppliers within commodity. Project Management: - Prioritize cost competitiveness through actively participating in bid packages, cost modeling, favorable negotiations and implementations by gourp volume and growth leverage. - Utiliize Danaher Business System (DBS) principles to drive total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements through value engineering, process optimization and lean initiatives. Cross OpCo/Function Collaboration: - Build and maintain strong relationship with Operating Company to gather the business requirements, gain regular inputs and align on the procurement plans for targeted categories. - Be the key technical communication hub between oversea team and regional-based suppliers, providing technical language and business customs expertise or supports as required. Requirements: - Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Science, Supply Chain Management or related field, Master or MBA is plus. - Minimum 7 Years in MNCs of relevant experience (eg., Sourcing, Procurement, Technology, Engineering, or Project Management). - Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively and independently. - Proven ability to lead others to solve complex problems which bridge multiple products/projects or business/functions. - Demonstrated critical & analytical thinking to apply insights into actionable procurement strategies. - Adaptability to manage competing priorities and deliver sustainable results in a dynamic and fast-paced organization. - Thrive in high-pressure environments, navigating ambiguity across diverse business cultures. - Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methods. - Fluent written and oral English, Willing to do some extra job and traveling.
