Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Regional Quality Manager to oversee and manage quality operations across multiple Asian countries, including China, Bangladesh, India and possible other Asian countries. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with expertise in both hard goods (stationery, toys, ceramics, household items, electronics, cosmetics…) and textiles (apparel, home textiles). This role requires effective leadership, strong cross-cultural communication skills, and the ability to manage diverse teams across different regions. The candidate should embody strong ethical values, be sensitive to sustainability and social responsibility, and work seamlessly with our headquarters in Amsterdam.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems and processes to ensure product compliance with company standards, international regulations, and sustainability goals.
2. Lead and manage quality assurance teams across China, Bangladesh, and India, ensuring alignment with regional and global quality objectives.
3. Oversee quality control processes for hard goods and textiles, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
4. Collaborate closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal stakeholders to ensure product quality from development to delivery, while promoting ethical sourcing and sustainable practices.
5. Conduct regular audits, supplier evaluations, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and social responsibility guidelines.
6. Provide technical support and training to quality teams, suppliers, and factories to enhance quality performance and awareness of sustainability practices.
7. Analyze quality data and reports to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
8. Work cross-functionally with product development, sourcing, and supply chain teams to support new product launches, quality initiatives, and sustainability goals.
9. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, legal requirements, customer specifications, and ethical standards across all regions.
10. Manage crisis situations related to product quality issues, providing effective, responsible solutions to minimize impact.
11. Serve as a knowledgeable and trusted leader, capable of working with autonomy while maintaining strong communication with the headquarters in Amsterdam.
12. Drive forward-thinking strategies, anticipating future quality challenges and sustainability trends to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar quality management role within a retail or manufacturing environment.
3. Strong technical background in both hard goods (stationery, toys, ceramics, household items, cosmetics) and textiles (apparel, home textiles).
4. Proven experience in managing multi-country quality teams, particularly in China, Bangladesh, and India.
5. In-depth knowledge of international quality standards, product safety regulations, sustainability practices, and compliance requirements.
6. Strong ethical values with sensitivity to sustainable development and social responsibility.
7. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
8. Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop remote teams.
9. Proficient in Mandarin and English; Cantonese is a plus.
10. Experience collaborating with international teams, particularly with European headquarters.
11. Able to work independently with strong organizational and time management skills.
12. Willingness to travel frequently across Asia as required.
