Primary Responsibilities: - Act as primary/lead SQE for metallics suppliers in APAC with a focus on metal parts (prefer machined-casting part) - Functions as a liaison between sourcing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve quality issues and failures related to manufactured parts and components - Develops positive relationships and works closely with strategic sourcing to select new supplier in APAC, responsible for on-board and manage new suppliers - Work with functional peers to develop and manage projects (PPAPs) at suppliers, make sure samples can be delivered timely and approve projects efficiently with related projects tools and skills - Provide trainings to suppliers for related quality functional and project management tools (SPC, 8D, PPAP, PFD, P-FMEA, FAI, control plan, ramp up, Gantt chart, etc.) - Proactively identifies improvement opportunities, drive suppliers for process and product consistent with PPAP qualification - Plan and perform necessary audits at supplier sites to identify potential risk and issues for Wabtec products (product audit, process audit, RSA audit, etc.) - Drive owned suppliers to effectively solve quality NCR with related tools (8D, 5 why, CA, PA, etc.) - Lead initiative activities for improving suppliers’ quality performance and projects capacity - Raise hands and make correct decision for any non-compliance issues at supplier sites (quality and EHS) - Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Compliance and Expectations: To ensure 100% compliance with the Safe Production Law of Korea and with Wabtec’s EHS Policy, all Wabtec employees must: understand and comply with Wabtec’s EHS Policy, safety instructions and established job specific safety procedures and rules; correctly use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE); obey PPE signals; complete applicable EHS training; participate in accident, injury & illness prevention activities; enhance their knowledge of risk mitigation and emergency response skills; and timely report near-miss cases, unsafe conditions and acts.
Qualifications Required: - Strong oral & written communication skills in English, Chinese Mandarin and Korean language - Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college in Engineering, Mechanical, Material or Quality related field - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in process and quality management within a manufacturing environment or supplier quality management department - Strong interpersonal and leadership skills - Demonstrated ability to document, plan, influence and manage programs across cross functional teams - Demonstrated ability to work independently and at remote locations without direct managerial oversight - Ability to travel (30-50% travel, APAC) - Strong problem-solving skills, strong quality mindset, decision maker
