Responsibilities: - Design and perform laboratory experiments in research areas related to industrial enzymes, including but not limited to the following aspects: assay development, protein quantification, protein characterization and protein analysis using analytical methods such as high-performance liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, calorimetry and spectroscopy, chemical analysis, gas chromatography. - Possess strong data processing and analysis capabilities. This includes the ability to handle large datasets, perform statistical analyses, and interpret complex data to derive meaningful insights. Proficiency in using data analysis software and tools, such as R, Python, or similar, is a plus. The candidate should be able to apply these skills to support experimental design, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the field of biochemistry. - Perform literature searches and apply learnings to the solution of various practical problems. - Function both as an individual contributor and, when needed, as a project manager. - Identify innovative industrial opportunities for enzymes by connecting with colleagues from other R&D sites and from other functional divisions such as sales and marketing. - The successful candidate must work well within a team and have a track record of working in collaborative environments.
Qualifications: - PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry or a related discipline with a deep understanding of enzymology, analytical biochemistry and protein chemistry, and with practical research experience in an academic or industrial setting (preferably biotechnology). - Proficiency in enzyme assay development and proven track record of independently generating successful research results in the above mentioned field. - Proficiency in the operation of common analytic instruments and data analysis software and tools. Familiarity in all and proficiency in some of the above mentioned areas are expected. - Prior experience with high-throughput screening, particularly with automated workstations, is highly preferred. - The successful candidate should be highly innovative, have excellent organizing and communication skills, and be able to thrive in a multidisciplinary team. - Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
