Position Summary
This is a marketing communication position within the business segment Performance Specialties (Coatings, Energy & Talc). The position is responsible for delivering global and regional marketing and communication support, as well as creating sales tools for the Coatings, Energy, and Adjacent markets. This role requires close collaboration with colleagues in marketing, sales, and technology.
Responsibilities
1. You research and assess the market, provide insights and analyze trends, identifying opportunities through a thorough understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics and regulatory dynamics. You carry out the research and market assessment using available market research tools.
2. You create clear product positioning and value proposition proposals by bringing our products into the context of the identified market trends. Support defining a clear marketing and communication story, in alignment with the annual communication plan, taking into account global presence and regional specifics, market intelligence on customer launches, trends and competition. You participate to new product launch teams executing the communication action plan.
3. You develop and update global marketing, communication and sales tools and initiatives for new product launches. Co-Create sales tools, brochures, teasers and presentation with input from marketing, technology and technical sales, ensuring fit with the annual communications plan.
4. You review and analyze product launches, technologies and benefit claims from our customers and key accounts and effectively share the findings with the commercial team through "success stories”.
5. You manage trade shows and events, by collaborating with external vendors and internally in a cross-functional team of sales, marketing and technical teams. You guide on branding, sales tools and content creation.
6. You create content for tools and platforms in line with annual marketing plan, with focus on external and internal web pages and social media (e.g Elementis intranet, third party promotion platforms, Social media platforms such as We Chat and sales enablement platforms), working closely with technical sales and marketing teams.
Decision making
61 You can propose product value propositions and product launches communication plans. The final decision making remains with the marketing manager and the marketing director.
61 You can independently decide to update existing and approved marketing collateral, as well as printing and distribution across the shows.
61 You have considerable decision making power to design within the given brand guidelines. However, the design will go through an automated approval process, but the check is for mistakes/typos, rather than to override the initial design decision.
61 You have decision making power to engage with existing media partners to plan and execute on already purchased items.

Technical Knowledge and Skills
61 Proven track record of developing and successfully rolling out clear value propositions and product positioning and sales tools.
61 Experience in market and trends research and translating trends and ideas into actionable plans.
61 High affinity to create digital content, vlogging and social media posts.
Position Requirements
1. Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communication or equivalent. Master’s degree is preferred.
2. Experience: Ideally 5 years of relevant experience in Marketing, Communication or Commercial roles. Experience in the Coatings, Energy or adjacent markets are highly preferred.
3. IT Skills: MS Office Suite, experience in CRM and Design Tools are a plus.
4. Language Skills: Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, additional languages are considered a plus.
5. Working arrangements: working in Songjiang office and allow to work 1 day per week from home
6. Traveling required: Occasional travel to Trade shows and internal meeting, mainly in the region.
