Mission The Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of products and components sourced from suppliers. This role involves developing and implementing supplier quality assurance programs, conducting supplier audits, and working closely with suppliers to address and prevent quality issues. Major Responsibilities 1. Supplier Management: 61 Develop and maintain a robust supplier quality assurance program. 61 Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards and company requirements. 61 Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions as necessary. 2. Quality Assurance and Control: 61 Develop inspection plans and quality control procedures for supplier-provided products and components. 61 Perform incoming inspections and testing to verify supplier compliance. 61 Review and approve supplier documentation, such as quality plans, test reports, and certificates of conformity. 3. Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions: 61 Investigate quality issues related to supplier-provided products and components. 61 Perform root cause analysis and work with suppliers to implement corrective and preventive actions. 61 Track and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions taken by suppliers. 4. Continuous Improvement: 61 Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality performance. 61 Collaborate with suppliers on quality improvement projects and best practices. 61 Monitor industry trends and incorporate new quality assurance techniques and tools. 5. Documentation and Reporting: 61 Prepare and maintain detailed quality assurance records and reports. 61 Summarize supplier performance metrics and provide regular updates to management. 61 Assist in the preparation of quality-related documentation for internal and external audits. 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: 61 Work closely with procurement, engineering, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of supplier quality practices. 61 Facilitate communication between internal teams and suppliers to address quality concerns effectively. 7. Training and Mentorship: 61 Provide training to suppliers on quality standards, inspection techniques, and problem-solving methodologies. 61 Mentor junior quality engineers and contribute to their professional development.
Education & Experience 61 College or undergraduate degree in engineering, quality management or related fields 61 Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality assurance, preferably in the automation equipment manufacturing industry. 61 Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, tools, and techniques. 61 Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 61 Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other quality management standards. 61 Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
