he Global Sourcing Specialist is responsible for providing strategic and tactical support for sourcing projects in alignment with the global supply chain strategy, with an emphasis on projects related to specific business units or product groups including direct and indirect spend. The Global Sourcing Specialist is further responsible for identifying new suppliers, conducting supplier audits and assisting with negotiations and global contracts.
ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES: 1. Identifies world-class global supplier through execution of the entire sourcing process including supplier identification, RFQs, supplier selection, supplier qualification, and on-boarding suppliers. 2. Work in conjunction with business units to develop a sourcing plan aligned with the global supply chain and execute on sourcing initiatives 3. Assist or lead as appropriate negotiations for raw materials, MRO, CapEx and Services, managing total costs, pay terms, supplier performance, delivery, quality and contract compliance 4. Report on global trends in supply, market conditions, market price, shortages, and opportunities for specific regions or product groups 5. Participate in annual global sourcing workshops identifying and mitigating supply risk and achieving cost savings targets globally 6.Evaluate supplier processes and performance through audits to obtain lowest total supply chain costs and mitigate risk. 7.Maintains various reports and analysis in support of global supply chain and business unit objectives 8. Creates and implements project plans to meet supply chain and business objectives 9. Strong understanding of global supply markets with ability to contribute to strategic decisions while driving implementation of multiple sourcing projects and negotiations 10. Responsible for taking appropriate corrective action with suppliers to ensure compliance with contract terms and performance 11. Adheres to supply chain policies, controls, procedures, and initiatives, promoting compliance with all Corporate requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field and a minimum of 3 years global sourcing experience. APICs Certified (CSCP, CPIM) is preferred. Strong change agent and problem solver, familiar with continuous improvement with experience in a manufacturing facility (Chemical industry preferred). Comfortable with 25% travel, including international travel.
