Job Overview / Purpose of the Role Lead cross-regional strategic purchasing projects and initiatives, integrating multi-regional resources through structured project management approaches. Build and implement effective global collaboration frameworks to deliver measurable business value. Optimize the utilization of local suppliers, primarily supporting NA/EMEA business operations.
Key Responsibilities Project Management Lead end-to-end project planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery using WBS/Gantt charts to ensure adherence to cost, quality, and timeline baselines. Develop intuitive tracking tools (e.g., visual progress boards) to monitor milestone delivery. Conduct stage-gate reviews from project initiation to closure. Align requirements and integrate resources across regional teams for seamless collaboration. Submit weekly reports to management with KPIs and status alerts, and create monthly executive briefs with data visualization to highlight project progress and cost savings. Supplier Management Implement APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) processes and execute PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) with suppliers. Ensure on-time delivery of OTS (Off-Tooling Samples) and PPV (Production Process Validation) milestones. Manage the impact of ECNs (Engineering Change Notifications) on project timelines. Build and develop a competitive supplier base by leveraging commodity expertise, fostering long-term relationships to align with global business trends. Support supplier project management and ensure accountability for supplier cost, schedule, and quality. Strategic Purchasing & Cost Optimization Align commodity strategies with corporate, purchasing, and regional business objectives, including supply base rationalization, spend management, and Best Cost Country (BCC) sourcing. Drive cost mechanisms to maintain competitive cost advantages and ensure optimal purchasing decisions. Support new technologies, marketing/product strategies, and cost management goals. Leadership & Problem-Solving Optimize team response speed and drive decision-making processes. Develop risk management frameworks and escalation paths to resolve critical issues. Provide additional support as requested by supervisors to meet business needs.
Qualifications Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or Business; MBA preferred. Experience 8-10 years of global project management and purchasing management experience in the multinational automotive industry. Specialization in high-mix, low-volume products or aftermarket sourcing is preferred. Proven track record in strategic purchasing and cost optimization projects. Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA). Key Competencies Excellent presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, and analytical skills. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and high emotional intelligence (EQ). Fluency in English for global meetings and reporting.
