Technical Advisor – Furniture (Shanghai based)
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will work closely with the Merchandising teams and be responsible for Furniture Products (e.g.,Indoor & Outdoor Furniture, Gardening Tools, Hand Tools, and Accessories ). Key tasks and duties include:
- Ensure quality and regulatory compliance of CE and Non-CE (GPSR) products - Determine product testing requirements for EU and Swiss markets - Address and resolve concerns related to testing requirements and quality issues - Conduct risk-based product evaluations and testing for safety and compliance - Conduct supply chain and internal audits, and follow up on corrective actions - Maintain effective working relationships with the merchandising teams, customer QA teams, and service providers - Assist the department manager in implementing quality strategies to support the business growth - Deliver effective training to merchandising teams and suppliers to meet customers’ needs and expectations
REQUIREMENTS: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Quality Management or related disciplines - At least 2 years of relevant experience in a European buying office is required - Solid knowledge of EU product requirements required - Strong analytical and time management skills - Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and efficiently - Team player with effective communication skills - Able to work under pressure - Willingness to travel to China and other Asian countries (e.g., Vietnam, India, Indonesia) as needed - Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin - Additional language skills (e.g., German, Italian, Spanish or French) are a plus - Proficiency in MS office and general computer literacy
