Main activities
Support team members to develop right products or solutions to meet with customer and market needs. Monitor critical development, milestones, technical challenges etc.
Ensure R&D tools and process are followed by team members;
Interface with Marketing, Product Development, Sales, Supply chain, Manufacturing/Quality teams to ensure the project output/milestone in timely manner;
Grow team on below aspects:
Projects management efficiency;
Global & regional information & best practice communication;
Actively interact with commercial team and external customers;
Testing effectiveness;
Team member career development and skills.
Technical supports to both internal and external customers to achieve company KPI (budget, quality, efficiency, trade working capital etc.) and business growth (new product development, problem solving, technical communication etc.);
Work closely with APAC & Global teams to fully leverage the technical knowhow & expertise;
Work with regional R&D director to define long term innovation targets and roadmap;
Lead team to strengthen know-how on existing platform and enlarge research area. Ensure good documentation of R&D activities and learnings;
Support R&D lab safety & 5S daily management;
Follow up Company HSEQ policy and procedure. Timely report out if have any concerns about HSEQ.
Adhere to the operation concept of energy saving and environmental protection. Implement basic energy-saving awareness in daily work and support the company's energy saving and environmental work.
Job dimensions
Technology platform: SMP, PU, MMA, HMPUR, WBA and Hot melt to applied in Sealant, Structural Bonding, Interior and Battery segments.
Lead a team in ATC and coordinate the Asia R&D projects.
Support BU to achieve business budget and R&D director to achieve R&D strategies and cost budget;
Support R&D director to manage assets to make sure good efficiency and effectiveness. Make annual Capex plan.
Context and environment
The position is office based but requires domestic / international travel;
Main contacts are company internal functions. Regular communication with Marketing, PD, Sales, Supply, HSEQ and Manufacturing teams.
Occasional needs to build relationship with allied suppliers and customers (internal & external).
This position need to travel domestic and abroad.
Qualifications / experience required
Positive and self-motivated.
Chemical related education background. Polymer is preferred.
Bachelor degree or above in chemistry related.
6 years’ experience of R&D (PD or TS) in mobility or adhesive industry.
Open minded and great communication skill. Acute culture awareness of different countries.
Systematic thinking. Strong data analysis skills is highly preferred.
Good commercial sense. Great adaptability to dynamic market and varying business needs.
Fluent English. Good reading and writing skills.
