They will have the ability to help identify and prioritize opportunities for Aptiv by monitoring and analyze the cost and operational impact of Chinese regulatory policies and incentives at the national, state, and municipal levels In China. The ability to summarize the complex in direct, easily understood communications via oral and written communications to audiences both to within the company and within the government are critical. Candidates with prior experience working on public policy for multi-national industrial clients in an advisory or in-house role will be favored. ● Responsibilities and Duties - The successful candidates primary responsibility will be to assist their manager identifying, quantifying and qualifying opportunities to work with the national, state, and municipal governments to help Aptiv increase its sales, reduce its cost, and mitigate its operating risk. - In general, will support the regional Gov’t Affairs Leads as they work with Aptiv’s Operational and Functional leaders to identify, prioritize, and execute on strategies that will provide Aptiv with a competitive advantage by increasing sales, reducing cost, and / or mitigating risk. Will accomplish this by: - Align with global and regional Gov’t Affairs Leads and senior operational and functional leads to: 61 set and manage the corporate goals, objectives, and strategic priorities in relevant areas of public policy and 61 agree on the key operating indicators that will be used to prioritize and invest in particular activities. - Monitor legislative and regulatory developments: 61 develop and implement proactive strategies to monitor, analyze, and anticipate changes in government policies, regulations, and legislative activities that may impact our business operations throughout the Asia-Pacific region. 61 prepare and deliver compelling presentations, position papers, and other advocacy materials to effectively communicate our organization's positions and influence policy outcomes. - Will assess the success of each project and report on performance to both our Gov’t Affairs leadership teams and our China operational and functional leadership teams. - Special projects, as assigned. ● Experience: ● 61 4-6 + years communications, government affairs, government relations, public policy, or related finance or operational roles, as an advisor, with a multinational corporation, or in an industry association. 61 In-depth knowledge of the political, regulatory, and legislative landscape in China. 61 Demonstrable communication, project management, writing, financial analytics, and negotiation skills. 61 Must be proficient with excel, ppt, and word. 61 Previous experience with public or internal group speaking and presentations or the willingness to develop in these areas beneficial. ● Education 61 Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Law, or a related field. 61 Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both written and verbal.
