About the Job: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Marketing and Innovation Manager to lead our marketing and innovation (NPD) strategy and execution in China. This pivotal role will be responsible for - developing market understanding - adapting our product portfolio to Chinese consumer preferences - ensuring the success of our operations in alignment with the overall commercial strategy.
Key responsibilities include: - Developing and executing marketing and innovation strategies tailored to the Chinese market. - Leading market research and analyzing consumer trends. - Defining and managing a diverse portfolio of protein products, including fresh and processed items aligned with local preferences. - Managing brand positioning and communication campaigns (both digital and offline). - Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to drive product innovation. - Monitoring market performance and adjusting strategies as needed. - Developing strategic marketing & innovation plans to position our company as a reference in the prepared food segment in China. - Identifying and leading opportunities for innovation in products and packaging. - Leading market studies to understand market conditions, consumer preferences, buying behavior, and emerging trends. - Monitoring competitors and identifying benchmarks. - Developing & managing the product portfolio. - Defining branding strategies, including adapting global positioning. - Developing partner agency to develop communication campaigns. - Identifying and prioritizing key activities to support sales channels growth (food service, retail, e-commerce). - Establishing strategic partnerships with distributors, food service chains, and digital platforms. - Monitoring marketing, sales, and innovation KPIs and providing regular reports to leadership. - Integrating sustainable practices into marketing and innovation strategies. Communicating brand differentiators related to quality, food safety, and innovation.
Skills and Experience Required: - Proven experience in marketing and innovation, preferably in the food or FMCG sector (min 3-5 years in a leadership position). - Deep understanding of the Chinese market, including consumer behavior and sales channels. - Ability to lead multicultural teams and work in dynamic environments. - Fluency in English and Mandarin. - Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related fields; - MBA or postgraduate degree is a plus. - Strategic vision and results-driven mindset. - Ability to innovate and adapt in a highly competitive market. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills. - Strong analytical skills to interpret market and consumer data. - Hands-on profile, with the ability to develop (strategic) and execute (operational) defined strategies.
