The Scientific Support Specialist is responsible for providing excellent technical support to researchers via phone and email, troubleshooting problems with antibody, kits and proteins-based applications, resolving product complaints, and leveraging scientific expertise to enhance customer experience and product quality.
This position reports to the Scientific Support Manager and is part of the Mission Support team located in Shanghai Pudong and will be an on-site position. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to: · Provide an excellent level of technical support to researchers, leading to high customer satisfaction as measured by Net Promoter Score · Troubleshoot problems with antibody-based applications (western blot, IHC, ELISA, etc.) and other protein detection related products · Independently resolve complaints by providing optimal solutions to customers, balanced with commercial needs · Improve customer experiences and increase sales by recommending products · Liaise with product suppliers to obtain product information and follow up on quality control
The essential requirements of the job include: · M.Sc. or higher degree in a life sciences field; Ph.D. preferred · Minimum 2 years of laboratory research experience with demonstrated proficiency in at least two of the following techniques: Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), Immunocytochemistry (ICC), Immunoprecipitation (IP), Flow Cytometry (FC), or Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP) · Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with ability to troubleshoot experimental challenges and provide optimization strategies · Fluent written English communication skills; fluent spoken English is highly preferred It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: · Experience with protein research and antibody validation · Technical customer support or scientific advisory experience · Knowledge of emerging technologies in protein detection and characterization
