Prepare, order, organize, and maintain art and design materials, equipment, and resources for lessons, workshops, displays and exhibitions Manage inventory, place orders, and track budgets using spreadsheets and office software. Ensure all art and design supplies, orders and equipment are well-managed, safe, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety regulations. Assist with the setup and breakdown of displays, exhibitions, and classroom spaces. Support the Head of Department (HOD) in administrative tasks and event planning. EDUCATIONAL AND CREATIVE SUPPORT
Provide technical assistance to teachers and students during practical lessons, examinations, workshops and exhibitions. Support art and design teachers with classroom management and cover lessons in emergencies. Contribute creative ideas for lesson resources, student materials, and art and design projects. Research and recommend books, media, and materials to enhance the student learning experience. Assist with the curation and installation of the annual art and design exhibition season and other school displays/installations. COMMUNITY AND EVENT SUPPORT
Act as a bilingual liaison during parent-teacher events, open days, and art showcases. Communicate effectively with parents, students, vendors, visitors and staff in both Chinese and English. Support extra-curricular art and design activities, including after-school clubs, competitions, twilight workshops and community projects. Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude for events and tasks beyond the classroom as part of the broader Arts department and secondary school.
BASIC QUALIFICATION
Education: Bachelor’s degree or above Major: art, and art/design related subject. Language: Native Chinese speaker and fluent in English, minimum CET-6 Teaching Qualification Certificate for Primary or Junior High Supportive of the Hiba values.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 2-years relevant experience.
EXPERTISE
Proficient in spoken and written Chinese and English. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Confident user of spreadsheets, word processing, and other office software. Good practical art and design skills and a passion for the arts. Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the department according to operational needs. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, open-minded approach. Numerate, with the ability to manage and monitor budgets in support of the HoD. Willingness to learn and grow professionally. Calm under pressure, able to professionally communicate with all stakeholders. Flexible understanding of how to manage time independently, showing initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude.
Preferred Aptitudes
Experience working in a school or educational setting. Knowledge of art curation and exhibition planning. Experience supporting or delivering art and design workshops. Familiarity with digital art tools and media software. Genuine passion for working with young people.
