Job Function: The Business Analyst Specialist is responsible for projects and acts as a liaison between the Business and the IT teams. He/she will collaborate with PPG’s Global Business to develop and clarify business processes, document, and communicate business requirements, and ensure IT products and services are aligned with business needs. Emphasis on activities in the China region but will work with a global IT team to deliver on these activities.
Position Description The Business Analyst Specialist can be technology generalists or specialists, providing an array of services such as business process improvement, priority-setting facilitation, project definition or design, and broker IT and contract services. The candidate should have 4+ years of experience in IT, business process design, or relevant consulting roles with proven success of project implementations. Complex problem solving and decision-making skills are required. Have extensive knowledge of the assigned business area's products and processes. Having experience in the strategic use of technology in managing and growing a business and extensive experience in the business process re-engineering utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change is also required. In addition, they will have strong technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to our business users.

Considered a member of a team focused on delivering business goals by following structured processes and procedures to deliver results. Share responsibility within the team to ensure on-time product delivery, which requires a clear understanding of expectations and capabilities as well as the ability to act effectively as a team member. Demonstrate the ability to effectively provide direction on complex scenarios that lead to process change. They directly influence the portfolio planning priorities and outcomes. Frequently demonstrated strong coaching skills with a demonstrated ability to mentor and direct others on global process within and outside areas of immediate expertise.
Provide project management deliverables for one or more projects and are expected to give directions to the project members, both PPG employees and contract resources. They may oversee multiple small projects simultaneously while managing a single large one. Participate in prioritizing resources and tasks, developing risk contingencies, adjusting project scope, interacting with purchasing, and providing management feedback. Monitor and report to management on the status of project efforts. Identify barriers to meeting project goals and provide solutions that keep projects on track and on budget.

61 Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing such as White Papers or training material
61 Ability to be comfortable in a nonhierarchical, flat organization and, if required, operate under a dual reporting relationship; ability to thrive in an unstructured hands-on environment that demands a consultative approach

Qualifications
61 A degree or higher in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent experience
61 4+ years of IT, business process engineering, project management, or a related discipline experience 61 Experience with ERP systems is desired but not required. Knowledge of SAP system is highly beneficial 61 Ability to interact with and lead both technical (IT) team members and business team members to achieve project success. 61 Strong understanding of business process mapping and design is required. 61 Strong Analytical and conceptual skills 61 Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing 61 Ability to collaborate within a global team & positive team spirit 61 Able to work remotely and comfortably, primarily using virtual means to collaborate with colleagues and managers 61 Must be able to work independently without close supervision 61 Fluent communication in Chinese and English 61 Highly motivated with a commitment to delivering high quality work in a dynamic fast paced environment
