KEY RESPONSIBILITIES61 The primary role will serve as a strategic, solutions-oriented business partner to the GreaterChina region across all relevant aspects.61 Major legal work includeso drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of contracts including but not limitedto, distribution, retail, promotion and marketing, celebrity and influencer endorsement,agency, e-commerce, employment, purchase, service and non-disclosure agreements,o drafting and reviewing various letters of authorization, commitment letters, legalnotices and other legal documents,o reviewing cosmetics advertisement and marketing claims,o providing proactive and value added professional legal advice to business teams andresponding to their enquiries on a wide range of corporate and commercial mattersand contractso analysing legal issues, identifying legal risks and providing pragmatic solutions andremedial action plan,o translating or reviewing translation of contracts, ando legal research61 Provide legal support to other legal areas to support business priorities, e.g. digital, marketing,e-commerce, brand authorization and licence, employment, finance, legal entities corporatemanagement etc. with close cooperation of the legal central corporate function.61 Ensure legal services are supported by effective and efficient tools, templates and processes.61 Manage litigation and disputes arising from business operation with facilitation from externalcounsels, including attendance at hearings and on settlement negotiations, as required.61 Partner with the Regional Compliance Officer to drive a strong culture of legal and ethicalbusiness practices, advising on matters involving possible violations of law, and providingsupport in investigations, training, policy development, and similar activities as requested.61 Improve current standards, templates and processes, ensuring that effective and efficient tools,global standards and templates (including appropriate compliance provisions), are in placeand are adhered to, implemented, and adapted as necessary to meet global policies, locallaws and business needs.61 Provide legal trainings to business teams and disseminate appropriate legal requirement tostakeholders/staff.61 Effectively coordinate with and manage external counsels.61 Apply for payments, seal management and handle other administrative matters.61 Support ad hoc projects and other matters as assigned by China Legal Director and AssociateGeneral Counsel Asia from time to time.QUALIFICATIONSExperience and education:61 Strong commercial law experience, with a minimum of 5 years’ combined practical experiencewith one reputable law firm and a player in the luxury, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, consumergoods, retail or e-commerce sector, at least 3 years’ experience from a reputable law firm61 Experience with western companies/culture61 China Bar exam and Nationwide Lawyer Qualification Certificate61 Master degree (preferrable, at least bachelor degree) majoring in law obtained from areputable university61 Overseas education or dual qualification is a plus
