This strategic sourcing role will reside within the Bio Fermentation Pillar while working closely with the Preservation Technology team. They will participate in the strategy development and sustainability of the Preservation business as well as maintaining connection with the regional business team as necessary. This will be a dedicated role that will focus on value creation and driving competitive advantage by: 61 Build strategic and long-term relationships with suppliers in China 61 Improve Kerry’s competitive advantage 61 Capture and share competitive market insights with the technology teams (Clean Label Preservation and Bio-Fermentation) 61 Secure the supply of key ingredients from Chinese suppliers supporting the differentiation of Kerry product in the marketplace 61 Confirm our suppliers in China are following Kerry-approved food safety and quality guidelines as well as manufacturing consistent fit-for-purpose material in line with our specifications 61 Understand the dynamics of our supply partners (e.g., raw material, upstream and downstream technical know-how) 61 Ensure the communication flows well to enable a strong supply chain, regulatory and quality assurance programs Key Responsibilities: 61 Strengthen and expand marketplace knowledge by understanding the supply base and the economic and business dynamics (e.g., cost/price models). 61 Build a network of potential strategic supply partners and understand their business model, their current and future capabilities, and their competitive or complementary market position to Kerry. 61 Cultivate relationships with strategic supply partners with the goal of facilitating and/or architecting creative means toward securing supply or strengthening the value proposition of Kerry’s technology. 61 Serve as the key point of contact for Kerry to these strategic supply partners, coordinate with procurement on negotiations and contracts, and support with key stakeholder communications. 61 Challenge and enhance the competitive advantage of Kerry by proposing innovative and enterprising ideas through working with strategic supply partners. 61 Study the market dynamics and risk consideration for the key ingredients including supply & demand fundamentals, capacity evolution, regions of expertise, and end-to-end competitive activity. 61 Participate as a key member of the Bio Fermentation Pillar team and understand the business growth strategies. Working closely with Project Management, Procurement, RDA, Supply Chain, Quality, and IO. 61 Communicate effectively and timely with the key stakeholders within the business team to support the growth initiatives, competitive advantage, strategic platform, and customer excellence. 61 Connect with Business Development to understand the direction of the marketplace and the technical specifications needed from ingredients. Collaborate with R&D in creating market-relevant products with the sourced ingredients. 61 Assess the “clean label” marketplace in China and provide insight into creating a larger market share for Kerry within China. Define and execute a Kerry FPP strategy in China. Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 61 Bachelor's or master's degrees as a food major 61 Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience with an impressive track record of accomplishments and continuous improvements Technical/science background prefer knowledge of fermentation process 61 Focused, results-oriented and able to challenge the status quo to achieve both the medium term to long-term KPI level and implement the global strategy. 61 Excellent interpersonal communication, relationship management and good influencing and stakeholder management skills to be able work across all levels within an organisation. 61 Travel: Minimum 20% of the time.
