DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : 1.Patient Care Delivery - General 1.1Assess patients including psychosocial status and escalate based on organization protocol 1.2Identify patients' age-specific needs 1.3Plan care based on patients' needs 1.4Prioritize nursing care based on identified needs and assessment data 1.5Identify patients who are at risk of complications 1.6Monitor patients for changes in status and identify indications of deteriorating in condition 1.7Perform procedures based upon patients' clinical status 1.8Collect specimens for laboratory tests 1.9Administer medications including narcotics by various routes 1.10 Administer blood or blood products, monitoring for signs and symptoms related to transfusion reactions 1.11 Monitor and evaluate laboratory data, and escalate for critical results 1.12 Compile and analyze data obtained from monitoring or diagnostic tests 1.13 Provide education and emotional support to patients and families 1.14 Document patients' medical histories, assessment findings, treatment plans and interventions, and outcomes 1.15 Collaborate with other health care professionals to develop and revise treatment plans based on identified needs and assessment data
2.Patient Care Delivery – Specialty 2.1Prepare and provide support in anesthesia 2.2Set up and monitor PACU equipment and devices 2.3Ensure equipment or devices and consumables in PACU are properly stored after use 2.4Identify malfunctioning equipment or devices, and handle it properly 2.5Assist anesthesiologist with intubation and extubation as assigned 2.6Manage critical situation appropriately 2.7Provide patient care and education in PACU and procedure room according to protocol and policy 2.8Maintain order and cleanliness in PACU according to IC guidance 2.9Prepare timely and accurate records of patient history and recovery charts
3.Quality and Safety 3.1Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations 3.2Ensure smooth operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, calling for repairs, and evaluating new equipment and techniques. 3.3Maintain patient's confidentiality 3.4Build rapport with patients and families 3.5Advocate for patients' and families' needs 3.6Participate in quality improvement activities
4.Clinical Teaching and Supervision 4.1.Provide clinical supervision to new nursing staff 5.Leadership and Management 5.1.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed 5.2.Coordinate with other members of the healthcare team regarding the provision of care
6.Professional Development 6.1.Maintain and enhance professional and technical competency by attending educational activities and participating in professional societies 6.2.Fulfill CNE requirement of attaining at least 30 hours of professional learning related to own practice area
