Main Purpose To originate and execute structured trade finance transactions in various commodities and markets, mitigating risks incl. counterparty, political, legal, operational, etc. To advise on credit risk exposures across the deal portfolio.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 61 Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in Finance, Accounting or Economics 61 Fluency in English and Chinese, excellent verbal and written communication skills 61 Strong financial background with 8-10 years relevant experience or equivalent 61 Commodity structured finance or trade finance experience with major traders or banks desirable 61 Detailed understanding of credit risk and documentation is indispensable 61 Able to handle complicated documentation 61 Numerically oriented with attention to detail 61 Demonstrable specialist financial skills and technical expertise to be credible on the trading floor and in high-level negotiations 61 Creative problem solver 61 Deals well with complexity and can define central issues and establish what is material to a successful transaction 61 Confident and highly credible in a fast-paced trading environment 61 Thrives in a demanding, fast-paced, and results-oriented environment
Key Responsibilities 61 Proactively maintaining relationship and working with financial institutions to provide financing solutions for Trafigura Group's commercial development 61 Drive the identification and origination in commodity STF deals 61 Analysing counterparty credit risks and serving as an intermediary between trading and credit for streamlining and easing the credit decisions process, including filing credit request, monitoring and reporting credit exposures 61 Preparing various reports to the group and management by working closely with trading and operation departments 61 Handling all aspects of a structured trade finance transaction including origination, structuring, syndication, documentation and risk participation 61 Performing a proactive business development function by reacting on a timely basis to requests from trading departments and developing new business opportunities from own contacts and network
