NQ / Senior Paralegal – Chinese Corporate Finance Team

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented NQ or Senior Paralegal to join our Chinese Corporate Finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be involved in high-profile corporate finance transactions. You will work closely with partners and associates on a broad range of corporate finance projects.
Job Responsibilities80 Assist associates to draft legal documents related to corporate finance projects80 Conduct due diligence investigations and legal research 80 Contact and follow up with clients and regulatory bodies in general enquiries and project related issues80 Review a broad spectrum of documentation including commercial contracts, board minutes and company records according to agreed templates and instruction of associates80 Assist in the verification of prospectus80 Translate legal documents between English and Chinese80 Coordinate and manage project documentation and data rooms80 Assist in the set-up of project plans, monitor and update plans80 Attend meetings and calls and minute / note actions and follow up80 Provide additional transactional support on legal projects if required80 Other duties as assigned
Requirements80 Law degree and a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a transactional legal role, preferably in corporate finance 80 Passed PRC Bar Examination80 Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese Solid understanding of legal procedures and transaction structures in corporate finance Ability to manage demanding workload and perform well in a fast paced professional environment80 High level of computer literacy and competence80 Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work either autonomously, co-operatively or with direction80 Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude80 Strong legal research skills, particularly internet research80 Flexible regarding working hours and tasks assigned Attention to details80 Good personal presentation, articulate and professional80 Positive, committed and prepared to use initiative and learn
