Description :
The role of a Commodity Buyer is to structure the building of a supplier panel for one or more commodities and ensure the overall productivity of the panel. The main missions of the role are to:
74 Structure the building of the panel: participate in the definition and the implementation of the purchasing panel policy for assigned commodities, manage supplier selection according to Group criteria
74 Panel management: ensure a regular follow-up of the supplier performance in relation with the Supplier Quality Assurance Manager and implement a supplier07s reduction plan consistent with Divisions and in coordination with the Business Groups
74 Manage the global suppliers productivity in relation with plant buyers
74 Develop and implement tools to improve global productivity
74 Negotiate and implement general agreements with the main suppliers
74 Ensure the utilisation of the panel by program and plant buyers
74 Ensure the reporting of his or her activities following defined policies

Qualifications :
The ideal candidate will have/be:
74 Masters degree in engineering with a specialisation in international purchasing
74 Minimum 3 years experience as a Commodity Buyer in an industrial environment
74 Results orientation with strong written and oral communications skills
74 Ability to work in a matrixed organisation
74 International mind set, overseas experience a plus
74 Bi/multi-lingual (English required)
