The role of the R&D/TS&D Technician at Dow Consumer Solutions encompasses providing technical support in the execution of experimental activities and studies related to silicone product and process development, performing sample preparation by using different types of compounding mixers independently, together with various product performance testing. The candidate is also required to operate/manage lab equipment/materials safely with good 5S. Key Responsibilities Collaborates within a laboratory team to assist scientists/engineers in the development, evaluation, and commercialization of new products and processes. Manages and executes laboratory work requests safely, maintaining and running laboratory apparatus and testing equipment and documenting data. Independently prepares, conducts, and manages standard and select non-routine procedures, including sample preparation, testing, equipment setup, and proper waste handling from experimental activities. Accurately and reliably records readings and observations using relevant equipment and instruments. Closely monitoring/communicating experiment findings with optimization ideas provided to scientists/engineers. Documents work in ELN and reports as appropriate. Promptly and effectively communicates with scientists/engineers to better understand experiment safety requirement/ performance targets/operations for good experiment delivery and enable/accelerate problem resolution. Responsible for calibrating, maintaining, and safely operating lab equipment and facilities; troubleshooting and coordinating repairs as needed; managing equipment according to SOP/SKP guidelines; and supporting the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and RTO of new lab equipment and facilities. Function support to ensure the lab daily operation smoothly including raw material and chemical sampling, labeling and shipping, disposal and waste management for good 5S; Routine 5S and safety inspection and intervening others for unsafe behaviors. Actively participate in work group team meetings to address safety, process improvement, problem solving, and other work group, department, and functional topics. Maintains inventories of consumable materials, chemicals, and supplies related to activities by anticipating usage rates, order lead times, and ordering/purchasing procedures with cost control. Qualifications An Associate Degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer, or other related science disciplines, coupled with laboratory experience in the chemical industry. Hands-on experience in laboratory operations, including innovation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with R&D scientists/engineers to ensure timely and high-quality project task delivery. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment to achieve performance objectives. Exemplary accountability, strong work ethics, integrity, and ownership. Good English communication skills. Excellent data analysis, result summarization, and problem-solving skills.
