Job description responsible and accountable for monitoring the entire product development pipeline from development through to order placement by driving product excellence in the delivery, quality, cost and service level agreement required of external and internal customers. S/he will also be responsible for product innovation and proposing cost saving opportunities that are aligned with sourcing and vendor strategies cascaded by our Sales team. S/he will also be responsible for bringing in new vendors to support the delivery of our business strategy and growth plan. Job Highlights ? ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Builds effective strategic relationships with business partners and successfully leverages these relationships across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies and colleagues to drive the results for ASL’s various Sales markets. Developing the assortment including inspiration shopping trips, vendor visits and sample approval. Manage product development processes in a timely manner. Manage development sampling and initial costs. Ensure product execution meets the design aesthetic as well as commercially acceptable quality standards. Manage vendor relationship and new vendor on-boarding training. Ensure vendor compliance at all times to ASL vendor code of conduct and client requirements. Partners with Merchandiser to identify needs and plan development and skill building for sourcing talent Requirements Bachelor's degree in merchandising, business administration, supply chain management, or related discipline; Minimum of 7 years work experience merchandise sourcing, development and production with at least 3 years in leading a team Knowledgeable in multi-country sourcing and ability to travel as needed to meet with factories and review samples/production Experience in sample development/production follow up and with direct factory production exposure Familiar in construction and testing requirement Possess a clear understanding of financial measurements and how to impact product development Strong eye for product, understanding of target customer and knowledge of product trends Demonstrated ability to deal head-on with issues and challenging situations Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities; can see a problem from multiple angles and provide viable, innovative options for resolution Excellent written and spoken English communication & presentation skills. Mandarin a plus.
