Main Responsibilities and Tasks
Leads in technical communication with customers (internal and external) on their requirements, transform the requirements into best design or improvement solutions.
Product concept and structure creation, primary product specification.
Conducts product simulation on new design using CAE tools such as Ansys workbench etc.
Leads cross functional team on design review to ensure product design has good DFM
Prepare and review DFMEA, tolerance analysis, product test report and FAI report
Leads in identifying, defining test procedure, design validation for new product or expansion product
Assists, provides engineering support and related product knowledge training to all relevant functions such as manufacturing engineering, QA, sales, FAE, marketing
Mass production product sustained, maintenance and important quality issue involving and supporting.
Conduct product continuous improvement activities (design optimization, standardization, consolidation, cost reduction, user experience etc.)
May conduct other advanced research activity as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education, Technical Qualification:
Min. 7 years components design related experience (including min. 3 years copper connector development experience)
Personal Attributes & Competencies:
Proactive, Open minded, detail oriented, accountability, experienced with CAD tools (Creo, Ansys) and LDFSS (Lean design for six sigma) tools such as VOC, QFD, DFMEA, DOE etc.
Broad knowledge of materials, electronics, product design and relevant manufacturing processes (molding, stamping, assembly, etc.).
Excellent presentation and communication skills in both English and Chinese, aware of cultural differences in global interactions.
Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
Familiar with stage gate new product development process.
