Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Assists in the creation of trend forward brand packaging across various categories. 2. Partners with product development and merchandising to fill lifestyle needs by product category. Influences the organization on design decisions. 3. Partners U.S team to create compelling brand packaging. 4. Ensures the quality of the vendor’s packaging through an established approval process and ensures all deadlines are met. 5. Creates and directs brand packaging for a wide variety of products (boxes, hangtags, labels, etic). 6. Experience with logo design, die lines, typography, color, print production, image selection, and complex packaging designs. 7. Follow-through from conception to shelf – providing approvals and overseeing successful execution of all components before press and delivery. 8. Communicate with product development and regulatory teams throughout the design process, including reviewing and proofing packaging. 9. Establishes parameters of acceptable tolerances in print/color/construction while developing and implementing methods to improve efficiencies. 10. Manages the photography and photography requirements for packages. Directs styling, ensures photo quality, content, and that timeline requirements are met. 11. Communicate clearly within project teams. 12. Work collaboratively with cross functional partners, vendors, and production facilities to ensure packaging meets required visual form, fit, and function. 13. Design & test packaging prototypes, and conduct packaging performance tests.
Qualifications & Competencies: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or a related field. 2. Ability to think across multiple platforms including product, merchandising and new forms of brand communication. 3. In depth knowledge of design and cultural trends to develop cohesive design solutions 4. Excellent sense of color, typography, design, and style. 5. Ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects and works well under pressure. 6. Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) as well as supporting office programs 7. At least 5 years of experience in packaging design related to home categories. 8. Highly motivated, passionate about fashion and has a commercial eye for detail in product. 9. Self-starter, passionate and results orient. 10. Experience and/or knowledge of photography & photo re-touching. 11. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to problem solve. 12. Strong communication and presentation skills
