Leads or coordinates project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management, and troubleshooting for Engineering projects Ensures project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.
Major Responsibilities: Provide Program Management leadership to new and/or existing product programs. Primary focus will be on Programs that have been defined as Major in scope. Manage project/program from Product Concept to Start Of Sale (SOS) including (but not limited to): ? Lead activities to identify associated risks and feasibility to projects for manufacturing related activities; develop program plan estimates and ? recommend whether the program makes business sense and secure approval. ? Assemble & Lead a cross-functional core team to execute upon the project plan. Focus will include cost, schedule, risks, contingencies, and estimated business results pertaining to activities associated with our manufacturing and design partners. ? Lead the core team to carry out work described by the plan, making adjustments as needed, launching the product on time and on budget, ? meeting the product performance requirements and delivering the business objectives that justified the project. ? Evaluate early product quality issues, lead the core team to resolve issues and close project, handing off cleanly to manufacturing, capture ? successes and opportunities for improvement to be employed by other project teams. ? Provide accurate and timely information to functional managers about performance of team members to support continuous improvement of cross-functional product development. ? Develop and manage positive relationships with co-program managers in US, product managers, functional managers, functional leads, team members, and others as required. ? Foster relationships with manufacturing and design partners. Ensure schedule/resource plans are current and aligned with the planned direction and outcome. ? Provide mentoring to project managers, and/or program specialists.
Qualifications: BS in Engineering required; MS in Engineering or MBA strongly preferred. A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a Product Development role, preferably within Consumer Electronics or Pro Audio. In addition, 3 to 5 years’ experience within a Program Manager role with a proven track record of successfully managing projects from concept phase through production start. ? Ability to demonstrate strong experience in the following areas: ○ Risk management and mitigation ○ Lead or participate in business impact analysis ○ Crisis management; scope and impact clarification ○ Team building and Team leadership ○ Conflict resolution o Demonstrated acumen across wide range of engineering disciplines, ie. Electronics design/manufacturing, mechanical design/assembly, User Interface and software, industrial design, plastics and acoustics. ○ Effective interpersonal skills and strong communication capabilities across different regions
