We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Apparel Design, Development, and Manufacturing to lead our design process from inception to delivery to consumer. This role requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of performance apparel, exceptional design skills, and a track record in manufacturing management. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and have significant experience in designing athletic wear with specific focus in cycling, triathlon, and running.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Leadership and Strategy: 61 Lead design process and mentor a team of developers, sourcing specialist and manufacturing/factory to create innovative and high-quality athletic apparel. 61 Develop and execute the strategic vision for apparel design, development, and manufacturing to align with the company’s goals and market trends. 2. Design: 61 Lead the design process from concept to completion, ensuring that all products meet performance, style, and quality standards. 61 Collaborate with athletes, sales agents, and other stakeholders to incorporate feedback and ensure that designs meet their functional and aesthetic needs. 3. Development Management: 61 Direct the development process, including material selection, prototyping, and testing, to ensure optimal performance and durability of apparel. 61 Manage the integration of new technologies and materials to enhance product performance and differentiate from competitors. 61 Lead relationships and communication with all suppliers. Sourcing from best-in-class suppliers. 4. Manufacturing Oversight: 61 Oversee all aspects of manufacturing, from initial production planning to quality control and final delivery. 61 Streamline artwork and proofing process at factory. 61 Develop and maintain relationships with key manufacturing partners and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. 5. Innovation and Trends: 61 Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to drive innovation in product design and manufacturing. 61 Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and operational efficiency. 61 Focus on the 3 F’s, ensuring all products exceed standards for Fit, Fabric, Functionality. 6. Collaboration and Communication: 61 Work closely with marketing, sales, and customer service teams to ensure that product lines align with market needs and customer preferences. 61 Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both internal and external, to manage expectations and drive project success.
Qualifications: 61 Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Textile Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. 61 Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in apparel design and manufacturing, with a focus on athletic or performance wear. 61 Proven track record of successful product development and manufacturing management. 61 Strong understanding of cycling, triathlon, and running apparel requirements and trends. 61 Excellent leadership and team management skills. 61 Fluency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. 61 Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 61 Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
