Astera Group is looking for an IP Manager to lead and manage our intellectual property (IP) initiatives, including patents and trademarks. This role is vital for maintaining our competitive edge and ensuring the protection of our innovative products. ※ Key Responsibilities and Competencies: 1.IP Asset Management: Oversee the management of Astera Group's global IP portfolio, including the application and renewal processes for patents and trademarks. Maintain a comprehensive database to monitor our IP assets. 2.Collaboration with R&D: Work closely with R&D teams to evaluate new products for potential IP protection. Identify innovative aspects during development and recommend effective IP strategies. Draft IP disclosure documents as needed. 3.IP Database Management: Manage and analyze IP databases, including trademark and patent platforms, to facilitate effective IP analysis and decision-making. Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records. 4.Prior Art Searches: Conduct thorough prior art searches and claim analyses across various technologies to ensure freedom to operate (FTO) and minimize infringement risks. Use critical thinking and research skills to uncover relevant information. 5. Internal Training and Meetings: Organize internal patent review sessions and provide training on IP matters to staff, enhancing overall IP awareness within the organization. Possess excellent presentation and teaching skills to effectively communicate complex IP concepts. 6.Advisory Role: Advise business teams on IP policies and best practices. Conduct competitor intelligence monitoring to inform strategic decisions. Show adaptability and business acumen to align IP strategies with organizational goals. 7.IP Rights Enforcement: Identify and address violations of Astera's IP rights; lead discussions with international IP offices and law firms; coordinate with management on necessary actions, including legal measures against infringements. Exhibit persistence and negotiation skills to protect the company's intellectual property. 8.IP Transactions: Manage processes related to the acquisition and sale of IP rights, including reviewing licensing agreements and leading negotiations. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure fair arrangements. 9.Legal and Market Research: Conduct research on the legal landscape surrounding IP in relevant markets to guide application strategies. Stay curious and up-to-date with the latest developments in IP law and market trends. ※ Qualifications: 1. Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred. ※Experience Highlights : The following required experience can be accumulated in the same position; we are not requiring a total of 9 years of experience. 1.Patent Litigation: At least 3 years of experience in patent litigation, with a proven ability to identify infringements and recommend appropriate actions. 2.Freedom to Operate Analysis: A minimum of 3 years’ experience conducting patent “Freedom to Operate” analyses to assess potential risks. International IP Experience: At least 3 years of experience in EU and US 3. intellectual property, with a strong understanding of international IP issues. You should be comfortable engaging with international IP offices and law firms. 4.Medium-Sized Company Experience: Experience in similar roles at medium-sized companies is essential. This background will help you navigate our IP workflow and budget effectively. We are looking for generalists who can manage all areas of IP and trademarks. ※ Skills: 1.Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset. Proficiency in IP database management and prior art search methodologies is essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 2.Problem-Solving: Ability to provide strategic solutions to complex IP issues and to navigate legal challenges effectively.
