Responsibilities 1. Structural Design: a. Develop conceptual and detailed structural designs for offshore substation topsides, including load-bearing structures, platforms, and support systems. b. Perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure the integrity and safety of the topside structure. c. Develop design drawings, specifications, and calculations for fabrication and construction. 2. Material Selection and Optimization: a. Select appropriate materials and structural components to meet design requirements, considering factors such as weight, cost, and corrosion resistance. b. Optimize structural design for weight reduction and constructability. 3. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: a. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, piping, etc.) to ensure structural compatibility and integration. b. Coordinate with project management, procurement, and construction teams. 4. Code Compliance: a. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., API, DNV, IEC). b. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments and best practices. 5. Technical Leadership: a. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. b. Contribute to the development of the engineering team's capabilities.
Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. 2. Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in offshore topside design, with a focus on substation structures. 3. Proven expertise in structural analysis software (e.g., SACS, ABAQUS, ANSYS). 4. Strong understanding of offshore environmental conditions and loading requirements. 5. Knowledge of fabrication, transportation, and installation processes for offshore structures. 6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications 1. Master's degree in Structural Engineering or related field. 2. Experience with offshore wind or renewable energy projects.
