Here is what you need to know about the job: Position: Senior Merchandiser - Apparel Job Descriptions Provide product design and development services to customers, based on the guidelines and information given by supervisor and customers Research and identify suitable product and market trends for customers Identify potential vendors and materials for product design and development Assist in establishing and enhancing customer relations with design advice Design showroom layout and coordinate showroom setup Provide general support to the team Design mini garments/swatches based on the creative and product development director’s trend direction to be used for buyer’s presentations Support Designers with buyer’s projects from presentation boards/yarns development packs/stitch packs/sample making/photo taking/logging and organizing Work closely with suppliers to develop/source and research new yarns and trimmings Assist merchandisers with customer requests and to design key customer up-dates, plus process customer product packs and sample orders Ordering of sample yarns or yardages and keeping an updated inventory of yarns /yardages ordered. Controlling all the sampling lead time following the customer’s calendar. Cost cross checking among different suppliers and regions to meet customer’s target price. Working T&A with vendors for each season from development to bulk delivery Visit trade shows/fashion shows in HK and China, able to go out and gather market research/new concept ideas Visit and Liaise with our China sample room on all matters related to sample making and development Work with Design, Merchandising, and Planning to ensure a smooth process flow in product development and getting product to market Evaluate materials, technologies, and companies in pursuit of Performance Product innovation Ensure product design goals are technically feasible, cost effective and timely Continuously advise management on the status of active projects and offer suggestions for timeline improvements when necessary Develop, maintain and foster relationships with current vendors to continuously improve pricing, delivery, innovation, and quality Perform other duties as assigned by management ? Requirements 3-5 years in sweater product experience Strong product and material knowledge with good development skills, and familiar with merchandising and product development process Able to work under pressure, result oriented, excellent communication skills, self-motivated, responsive and detail minded Ability to build strong relationships with the team, communicate effectively with internal and external parties Strong problem solving skills. Able to manage multiple tasks environment Good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin Literate in Microsoft office programs
