MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Executive daily work and develop project independently - Provide independent subject matter expertise and analytical support to category decisions made by the Merchandising Organization. Typical analyses include but not limited to: (1) External Marketplace and Competitor Analysis (2) Internal Category Performance and Analysis (3) Line Structure, Price point offerings and profitability (4) Vendor / Brand offerings and profitability (5) Key product attribute offerings and profitability (6) Customer insight and basket attachment analytics (7) Inventory analysis by store volumes or SKU velocity (8) Geography and Clustering performance (9) Execution performance tracking and assessment (10) Online analytics for interconnected retail - Understand the business context/product knowledge and provide standard set, deep dive and tailor-made review analytics and be accountable for accuracy, thoroughness, thought process, ability to manage timeliness under pressure, and deliver data-driven recommendations/insights - Integrate multiple sources of data and place them into context of the review objectives - Manage multiple projects and support PLRs event on-site or remotely independently - Drive special projects, and develop Best Practice Sharing with team - Complete other assignments from leaders or planners POSITION PURPOSE The Senior Assortment Planning Analyst will partner with Assortment Planners in the US primarily during Rapid Business Reviews (RBR), Product Line Reviews (PLR) and Category Management (CM) for a designated department, to drive analytical support during the review milestones from end to end and partner with the Merchandising Organization in developing go-forward category assortment strategy. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCES - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job, such as Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business Analytics, or comparable field - At least 4 years of relevant work experience; Knowledge of merchandising and retail - Excellent communication skills, English proficiency, able to communicate well verbally and write compelling presentations and result summaries - Excellent analytical skills, including demonstrated aptitude with financial analysis and ability to generate insight from large and complex data sets, proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, SQL, or Google Big Query - Experience with retail method of accounting is a plus, and experience with BI and data mining tools are preferred - Self-motivated and intellectually curious to learn new things on the fly - Strong team spirit and willingness to summarize and share best practice with team Competencies Functional Competencies - Financial Acumen & Business Insight; Technical Skills; Product Expertise General Competencies - Action Oriented; Collaborates; Customer Focus; Drives Results; Communicates Effectively
