Job Title: Assistant Event Project Manager Division: China (under Asia P&L) Event: Data Center Asia – the ShapeX event portfolio Reports to: Senior Event Project Manager Direct Reports: Starting as an individual performer and growing a team as the relevant event(s) scales up Location: Shanghai/Shenzhen is preferred; Guangzhou/Beijing can be considered Informa Markets in China is looking for an Assistant Event Project Manager to lead the revenue/profit growth, business development and marketing excellence of the relevant event(s). Successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of event revenue/profit targets in China, fulfilment of marketing strategies and development of local partnership/reseller/media network. Working closely with Senior Event Manager and Portfolio VP, he/she will drive the event revenue growth year-on-year and establish the event brand(s) as market leader among China customers. Finally, he/she will be a known leader in the relevant industry in China, holding deep insight into market dynamics and customer needs. Key Responsibilities: 61 Business Development: o Own the revenue target of the relevant event(s) in China; o Identify, approach and acquire large-scale exhibition and sponsorship customers; o Explore channel opportunities and develop reseller network (as needed) to enhance the new business acquisition opportunities. 61 Partnership Development & Buyer Engagement: o Foster strong relationships and partnerships with China-based trade associations, government agencies, and key stakeholders to enhance the event’s profile and reach. o Attract and manage VIP buyers from China market, ensuring they have a seamless and engaging experience at the event. 61 Media Relations & PR: o Manage media relations, including negotiating barter deals and securing media partnerships in China. o Develop and execute comprehensive media plans to drive event awareness and coverage. o Plan and execute PR campaigns (both digital and offline) to promote the event and engage the target audience. 61 Content Development & Speaker Acquisition: o Work with Conference Producer to enhance the event conference programme with local relevancy to Chinese audience; o Source and secure high-profile speakers who are leaders and innovators in the targeted sectors. 61 Collaboration and Internal Coordination: o Work closely with other events and teams within the company to align strategies and leverage internal resources. o Coordinate with the regional marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure cohesive event execution. Qualifications: 61 Bachelor’s degree either in Marketing, Communications, Business fields, or a tech industry related field 61 Minimum of 3 years of experience in event management, with strong focus on sales, marketing and business development. 61 Proven ability to define a sales, marketing and business development strategy and support campaigns to execute against a set of targets 61 Proven ability to develop relationships at senior levels and interact with high value customer accounts or partners 61 Capable of managing multiple stakeholders and work effectively and independently in a fast-paced environment. 61 Growth mindset with strong sales & marketing acumen. Able to drive innovation and changes 61 Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. 61 Previous exposure in technology industries is a strong plus 61 Language requirement: proficiency in written/spoken English, native Mandarin, with Cantonese as a plus. 61 Required travel approximately 20-30%
