Job Summary:
The Sr. Quality Manager is accountable for the development, implementation, and maintenance of rigorous quality standards within the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to Life Cycle Management (LCM) for Home Appliances and Personal care products for overseas customers. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that all new products satisfy customer and regulatory requirements. The Sr. Quality Manager will oversee quality considerations from the design phase through to full-scale production, establishing robust quality assurance and controls and facilitating a seamless transition to manufacturing. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of continuous improvement and uphold superior quality standards for new products.
Responsibilities:
1. New Product Introduction (NPI):
61 Lead quality planning and assurance activities throughout the NPI process, encompassing design, development, and production ramp-up.
61 Follow APQP process to establish quality criteria, implement process controls, and devise inspection protocols for new products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
2. Quality Assurance and Control:
61 Oversee product testing and inspection processes during the NPI phase, ensuring that all new offerings conform to established quality standards.
61 Implement and monitor quality control measures throughout the NPI process to proactively identify and address potential quality issues.
61 Conduct 8D reports with detailed root-cause analyses and lead the implementation of corrective actions for quality non-conformities prioritized.
3. Continuous Improvement:
61 Identify and recommend enhancements to NPI processes, collaborating with teams to integrate Lean, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement methodologies.
61 Spearheaded cross-functional quality improvement initiatives aimed at elevating product quality, reducing defects, and streamlining NPI and LCM processes.
61 Promote initiatives designed to enhance product consistency, decrease time to market, and improve overall customer satisfaction.
4. Compliance and Risk Management:
61 Ensure adherence to relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies regarding new products.
61 Collaborate with regulatory bodies as necessary, preparing for required inspections or certifications during the NPI process.
61 Develop risk management strategies specific to new products, proactively addressing potential quality and safety concerns.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
61 Lead, mentor, and train the quality team, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
61 Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to enhance team skills and competencies.
61 Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and customer support, to align quality initiatives with business objectives.
6. Customer Feedback and Satisfaction:
61 Collect and analyze Overseas customer feedback on new products to identify trends and areas for enhancement.
61 Develop and implement strategies to address customer feedback, complaints, and suggestions during and after the NPI phase.
61 Monitor and report on quality metrics to senior management.
Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is required;
2. Demonstrated experience as a Quality Manager or in a similar role, ideally within an NPI or product development environment.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of quality standards and methodologies relevant to NPI (e.g., ISO, GMP).
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with practical experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
5. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
6. Proficiency in quality management software, Microsoft Office, and statistical analysis tools (e.g Minitab).
Preferred Skills:
1. Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Best, ASQ: CQM, CQE).
2. Experience with Six Sigma, or other methodologies for quality improvement.
3. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and Manufacturing industry standards, Capability to manage
multiple projects concurrently and effectively prioritize tasks.
