Job Description 1.0. Position Tittle: Supplier quality engineer 2.0. Position Reports to: Supplier quality manager 3.0. Primary Objective 61 The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for quality performance management of responsible suppliers in Asia. And investigating, analyzing and resolving supplier quality problems by conducting process audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects with Asian suppliers. 61 The position champions problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate recurrence of nonconformances to improve the quality and integrity of the company's window covering products, meeting customer expectations, and carrying out corrective actions from customer complaints to field issues. 61 New Supplier quality system audit of supplier qualification process. 61 New product development as SQE role, carry out PSI (pre-shipment inspection) at supplier site and has PPAP review and approval role. 4.0 Major Responsibilities 61 Work with Purchasing dpt. to ensure supplier quality performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented. Work to resolve supplier technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply chain. To ensure that only good products can be shipped to customer per schedule. 61 Perform auditing on quality system for new supplier on-board process. 61 Carry out PSI (Pre-Shipment Inspection) process at supplier site regularly. 61 Lead supplier Quality Reviews. Develop and maintain and update critical supplier audit systems and carry out audit regularly. Conduct supplier audits to drive process standardization per Quality Control Plan, and continuous improvement activity. Strategically lead supplier performance improvement projects to increase supplier capability. 61 Perform PPAP process for any new product development. 61 Establish specific short / long term supplier quality goals. Monitor, communicate and improve quality performance of suppliers. Monitor supplier performance (dppm, cpk, warranty, etc.) and drive necessary improvements. 61 Identify, target and promote new tools and concepts with suppliers – pFMEA, Quality Control Plans, statistical methods, Six Sigma methods and other state-of-the-art techniques for concurrently improving quality and cost 61 Oversee and support the root cause analysis and Corrective/Preventive Actions taken by supplier with 8D report after customer complaint. 5.0 Qualifications and Experience
61 Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent. 61 5 years supplier quality management experience, with at least 2 year Quality Process Control experience. Experience with automotive or textile product quality is a plus. 61 The ability to read and interpret specifications to define supplier quality process controls and measurement criteria. 61 Experience interacting with cross functional teams including procurement, sourcing, engineering, logistic and so on. 61 Familiar with Quality Management Systems (ISO9001/TS16949) And has experience for quality audit. 61 Familiar with quality tools, such as PPAP, SPC, Pareto chart, CPK, Xbar-R chart and so on. Green belt or Black Belt of Six Sigma will be a plus. 61 Willingness and being able to travel frequently. 61 Good English level, both oral and written English. The position needs to have conference call with foreign colleagues of US and Mexico weekly basis.
