Job Overview: We are an international freight forwarder seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy Assistant IT Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will assist in managing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the security and integrity of systems, supporting key business operations, and driving IT-related projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, an ability to lead projects, and experience with logistics or freight forwarding operations.
Key Responsibilities: IT Infrastructure Management: Assist in maintaining and supporting the company’s hardware, software, network, and telecommunication systems. Strategic Projects: Work with the IT team on strategic projects such as Azure Setup, SQL Database Setup, Single Sign-On (SSO) Setup and system integrations. Connectivity and Network Stability: Improve connectivity, ensure network stability, and optimize IT systems for peak performance. System integrations: manage integration projects such as EDI/API between ERPs or other systems. General IT and Application Support: Provide day-to-day IT and application support to internal teams, resolving hardware, software, and system issues to minimize downtime. Systems Administration: Administer servers, databases, ERP systems, and other core platforms. Troubleshoot technical issues to ensure smooth business operations. Data Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the integrity of data and ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO). Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for IT services, software licenses, and hardware procurement. Innovation and Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and assist in the adoption of new technologies to optimize IT operations and support the logistics business.
Key Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in IT roles, preferably in logistics, freight forwarding, or related industries.
Technical Skills: Proficient in network administration, server management, and IT security practices. Experience with Azure cloud services, SQL database setup and management, and SSO solutions. Familiarity with ERP systems, CRM tools, and logistics software. Knowledge of programming or scripting (e.g., Python, SQL) is an advantage. Strong understanding of integration technologies such as EDI and APIs.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with an analytical mindset. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams. Proactive in learning and implementing new technologies.
