Job Description:
61 We are looking for a dedicated MPS Axign Application Engineer with a background in electronics engineering and preferably integrated IC design with an interest in and experience with audio / class-D applications.
61 It is the job of the MPS Axign Application Engineer in Shenzhen to design-in class D audio amplifier applications with the controller ICs and power stage ICs made at MPS Axign, at various customers in China.
61 Tasks include control loop design, Matlab/Simulink simulations, PCB design, design of DSP code/algorithms, design of new software functions for the class-D amplifier, implementation of new power stages (integrated or discrete H-bridges).
61 To be part of this team, you should have good insight in analog/power electronics and to have affinity for hardware design and measurements. You will be working with colleagues on new applications and are expected to be able to communicate clearly and professionally both internally and externally to customers and/or suppliers. After a learning and training period, you should be able to answer customer questions and support customers with their implementation.
Activities/Tasks and Responsibilities:
61 Calls and on-site visits to customers to technically support MPS Axign solutions
61 Regularly alignments with other MPS Axign application engineers (in the Netherlands) about support needs
61 Validating designs with measurements
61 Optimization of amplifier designs on e.g. idle noise/THD/efficiency/stability
61 PCB design/ordering/bring up
61 Implementation and testing of new application ideas
61 Simulations of new applications / modelling of relevant parameters
61 Automating measurement setups
Technical Skills:
61 Knowledge of analog circuit design and simulations
61 Practical skills like soldering/rework
61 Basic knowledge of digital filters and signal processing
61 Basic knowledge of control theory
61 Basic knowledge of Matlab/Simulink
61 PCB design experience (Altium) is a nice to have
Requirements:
61 Academic Education: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering
61 Good written/verbal communication skills in English and strong teamwork/collaboration.
61 Some passion for audio would be nice
61 Some years of experience in customer support and class-D audio amplification is preferred.
