Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the operations team to ensure the successful execution of freight forwarding activities, including multimodal transportation and customs clearance. - Create and complete shipment details in the internal transport management system. - Build, maintain relationships and coordinate with all stakeholders and organize transport according to customer commitments. - Obtain Dangerous Goods (DG) approvals as needed; escalate discrepancies when necessary. - Monitor and report on the operational performance of carriers and vendors, ensuring high data quality for customer reporting. - Create files for export consolidation and import de-consolidation. - Review and align shipping instructions, addressing any deviations while considering regulations, compliance, rates, and routing. - Accurately submit all required documentation within 24 hours of departure. - Share departure and arrival confirmations (or deviations) with Customer Service team. - Maintain cost awareness and efficiency through timely cost/revenue updates, aiming for profit maximization. - Support and resolve claims and disputes. - Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize processes and improve efficiency. - Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, customs requirements, and company policies. - Train, mentor, and develop team members to foster a high-performance culture. - Ensure effective communication within the team and with overseas offices.
Qualifications: - Minimum of 8 years of experience of operation in the freight forwarding and logistics industry with at least 3 years in a leadership role - In-depth knowledge of freight forwarding operations, customs regulations, and logistics practices. - Established network of agents and suppliers in China is essential. - Proficient in Putonghua (Mandarin) and English (both speaking and writing); proficiency in French is a plus. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. - Strong analytical skills, with attention to detail. - Willingness to travel within China as needed.
