Purpose of Job 61 Be responsible for the compliance, teaching routine, effectiveness and results of the Chinese course. 61 Be responsible for the quality improvement of the Chinese course. 61 Be responsible for the teaching research, evaluation and feedback of Chinese course, and be responsible for the establishment and implementation of Chinese course and Chinese teacher evaluation system. Duties and Responsibilities Teaching Convention 61 Be an excellent teaching practitioner in planning, preparing and delivering well-structured, clearly presented lessons appropriate to the abilities of all students and maximising their learning progress. 61 Make sure that the classroom is a stimulating environment that facilitates learning. 61 Generate enthusiasm for the subject being taught and inspire all students to work to their potential. 61 Liaise with the Head of Chinese and Inclusion Team where a student may have special educational needs and with the Class Teacher if a student is experiencing pastoral difficulties. 61 Promote high standards of behaviour by encouraging a positive, proactive approach to study and build productive relationships with students. 61 Set Chinese homework according to policy and pertinent to the student’s ability and wider workload. 61 Be responsible for regular monitoring and evaluation of students' Chinese learning. Teaching Improvement 61 Stay up to date with pedagogical and curricular developments of Chinese education. 61 Develop and enhance teaching practice to adapt to local conditions and schools to improve the quality of student's Chinese learning. 61 Develop and actively promote new learning methods, including but not limited to: conceptual learning, problem-based learning, project-based learning, community-based learning, and open learning. 61 Support Lower School Head of Chinese to build a long-term and mid-term curriculum framework including the development of textbooks. Teaching Research 61 Actively promote teaching research in the school and inter-school. 61 Participate in teaching research activities organised by Education Administration. 61 Carry out research on Chinese education. Others 61 Attend meetings organised by AISL Chinese group when necessary. 61 Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by members of the Senior Leadership Team and any duties that the Head Master deems necessary for the effective operation of the school. Requirements Education, Training and Qualifications 61 Bachelor degree or above with a major in Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language, Chinese Language & Literature or other related subject. 61 Appropriate Chinese Teacher Qualification Certificate. Knowledge and Experience 61 Minimum of 5 years Chinese language teaching experience in well-known schools. 61 Applicants who have participated in National compulsory education Chinese curriculum, EYFS, KS1, KS2 are desirable. 61 Teaching experience in an international school is desirable.
