Key Responsibilities: · Development, communication and ongoing refinement of the Vertiv commodity strategy through regular (monthly) engagement with the cross functional global commodity team (regional commodity managers, procurement, marketing, engineering) and strategic supply partners
Development and leadership of the global commodity team encompassing regional and/or global marketing, engineering, operations and procurement teams to ensure regional and global needs are balanced and addressed in the overall best interests of Vertiv, its customers and its stakeholders Consequently, the development of deep relationships with Marketing, Engineering and Regional Operations and Supply Chain teams will be critical to success
Commercial relationship management of key global, strategic suppliers, including contract negotiation, pricing, lead-time, inventory performance and quality performance (quality and execution).
Oversight, communication and reporting of commodity performance, including, but not limited to; Technology and Innovation trends and progress Material Inflation planning & reporting, including risk mitigation and cost reduction strategies and planning towards achieving the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Supply base development and management (supplier strategy, supplier population, preferred supplier list) · Identify and drive best practices, globally: (internal and vendor/supplier) related to sourcing, pricing, quality, efficiency, etc.
Keep Vertiv management abreast of developments with suppliers and in the electronics industry that affect Vertiv short-term business performance and long-term business strategy
