Based on the needs of the work, the English Language Center (ELC) in SMBU(Shenzhen MSU-BIT University)is open for recruitment of native English teachers with the following job requirements: I. Job requirement 1. Job Title: Teaching Fellow of English Language/Lecturer (native speaker, full-time) 2. A higher education degree obtained in English language with specialty areas: Applied Linguistics / English for Specific Purposes / English for Academic Purposes and applied linguistics, or translation studies. 3. Duties of the lecturer / teaching fellow will include: - Full-time teaching (typically 18-20 hours of classroom teaching per week and other teaching commitments); - Working with the faculty on projects or assignments in an area of professional interest or expertise (e.g. assessment, curriculum development, materials design, professional development) - Engaging in language and cultural exchange extracurricular activities. II. Qualifications: 1. Applicants should have a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a closely-related field. They should also have a strong background in teaching English for Academic Purposes or English for Specific Purposes at the tertiary level. 2. Professional knowledge of EAP/ESP teaching and materials development is an advantage. 3. Native speaker is expected. Ability to speak Chinese is not required. The candidate should be willing to engage in the ELC's committee works and projects as assigned. III. Relevant welfare 1.
