Job Summary
We seek a skilled R&D Manager with expertise in plastics recycling, particularly PET and ABS, to lead formulation development, color matching, and process optimization. The ideal candidate will ensure recycled plastics meet our stringent internal standards for performance, aesthetics, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
1.Recycling Process Development
a.Design and optimize chemical processes for recycling PET and ABS from post-consumer waste.
b.Develop formulations to enhance material properties (e.g., strength, thermal stability, UV resistance).
2.Color Matching & Aesthetic Standards
a.Use spectrophotometers, color-matching software (e.g., Pantone, Datacolor), and pigment dispersion techniques to achieve precise color consistency in recycled plastics.
b.Collaborate with QC teams to align recycled materials with internal color and appearance standards.
3.Quality Control & Compliance
a.Conduct lab tests (FTIR, DSC, TGA) to validate material properties and ensure compliance with ISO 9001/14001 standards.
b.Address production challenges
(e.g., contamination, polymer degradation) through root-cause analysis.
4.Cross-Functional Collaboration
a.Partner with R&D to pilot new recycling technologies
(e.g., chemical depolymerization, advanced sorting).
b.Work with production teams to scale lab-developed processes to industrial levels.
5.Sustainability Innovation
a.Research circular economy strategies to minimize waste and energy use.
b.Ensure compliance with Indonesian environmental regulations and global sustainability frameworks.

Qualifications
1. Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field.
2. English: Whom you report to and your direct reports are foreigners, you have to speak good English
3. Experience: 1–5 years in plastics recycling, with hands-on expertise in PET/ABS processing, formulation, and color matching.
4. Technical Skills:
a. Proficiency in polymer characterization tools (e.g., FTIR, DSC, rheology).
oKnowledge of recycling technologies (mechanical, chemical) and additive/pigment compatibility.
5. Soft Skills:
a. Strong project management,
oproblem-solving, and
b. cross-team communication.
6. Preferred Skills
a. Experience with color-matching software (e.g., X-Rite, BYK-Gardner).
b. Familiarity with Indonesian / EU recycling regulations
(e.g., Extended Producer Responsibility).
c. Multilingual: Bahasa Indonesia proficiency is a plus
