OVERVIEW:
Shenzhen R&D is seeking a highly motivated Senior Product Development Engineer to lead Calphalon new product development initiatives and drive continuous improvement strategies for existing product lines. The ideal candidate will be able to work in cross-functional teams, balance work on multiple projects and manage to deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead new product development projects from concept through production launch, ensure new product development on time, cost and quality.
2. Generate and evaluate product concepts and designs, work with Design Engineering to build product prototypes for internal evaluation
3. Ensure design robustness, work with design team to finalize engineering drawings with critical dimensions, performance specifications, and quality specifications.
4. Ensure new products function properly, support all engineering builds (ESL, MSL, PPAP) and review engineering samples to meet technical specification.
5. Develop comprehensive product qualification plan, work with test engineer to develop related test methods and create test procedures.
6. Plan and coordinate new product development projects and activities as part of cross-functional development team.
7. Provide technical support to vendors in resolving product quality issues with existing products.
8. Lead VAVE/productivity initiatives and implement improvements to existing products.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or related Engineering degree)
2. 8+ years of engineering development experience in consumer products or related field
3. 3+ years of product design experience by using 3D software (Creo preferably)

COMPETENCIES:
1. Comprehensive expertise in plastic, metal, and wood material production design and manufacturing processes.
2. Effective planning/organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple concurrent projects
3. Proven problem-solving capabilities including issue identification, solution implementation to optimize operational workflows.
4. Proficient in PLM system, able to upload or download engineering Docs from Windchill.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
