The Buyer will report to the Merchandising Manager. They receive orders from the Customer Services team and place those orders with the factories. The main role is to ensure that all orders are produced on time and at the right price and time. Separate team exist for Factory Selection, Pricing, Customer Services, Product Development and Quality.
The role of the buyer is: Receive order from Customer Services team and place them with factories. Manage all orders through to completion – on time, on budget, right quality. Using the Factories allocated by the Sourcing Manager Resolve problems about price, timing or quality. Report progress of all orders weekly. Offer advice on order placement to the Operations Manager. Accept handovers of product from Product Development team Record and report using Axapta(Mircosoft software) and Excel
Not included This role does not include creating new concepts or brand building. It does not include marketing or customer liaison. It does not include selecting factories for production. All these functions are done by separate departments.
Skills and experience required 3 years' working experience in a buying role. Must be able to think indepently. Demonstrated ability to solve problems. Very good English (written and verbal) 100% essential.
