Mechanical Design Engineer
* Create 3D models and detailed mechanical drawings according to ISO, GD&T, and Honeywell standards.
* Preparation of CAD drawings, technical files, prototypes, product concept and design, part qualification, user manual updates, internal test reports, etc.
* Defining, designing and verifying (testing) and supporting mechanical parts on Value or Component Engineering (cost reduction) and sustaining activities (quality problem solving, customization, manufacturing support, etc).
*Be familiar with Engineering change management.
* Create detailed mechanical design specifications and test/qualification plan. Optimize product for cost and quality.
* Regular communication with marketing, suppliers, manufacturing, sourcing & quality departments.
* Part of the work is also the management of small projects.
* Must be a self-starter willing to take ownership of assignments
* English reading and writing is workable.
* Should be willing to travel if it is required.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a technical university.
* Knowledge of and experience with manufacturing processes, especially casting/plastic/sheet metal/machining operations.
* At least 3-year experience in product design field.
* Knowledge of thermal printer or similar product preferred
* DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) certification preferred
* Experience with design for manufacturing, design for test, Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), or structured quality and design methodologies such as Six Sigma.
* The use of database systems like PDM, SAP advantageous
* Proficient in MS Office suite and Minitab statistical analysis program.
