? To provide individual counselling, group counselling, family interview, risk assessment and crisis intervention ? To guide students’ clubs and provide suggestion to club leaders ? To provide consultation services, as requested, to students, faculty, and staff within the university ? To participate in service evaluation activities ? To assist Student Counselling Center’s daily operation including documentation work, case study and so on ? To liaise with academic department and teaching centers to establish collaboration mechanism and system to provide satisfying community and supports for students where necessary ? To perform other assigned functions that contribute to the service of the center, liaison with academic or administrative units, and participation in university program development
Qualifications:
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese ? Knowledge, skills, and abilities in psychological assessment, theories of personality, abnormal psychology or psychopathology, human development, learning theory, counselling theory, and/or other appropriate subjects ? Knowledge of principles of program development, consultation, outreach, developmental theories and be able to understand the individual in the context of a diverse social and cultural milieu ? Highly motivated and professionally committed, and willing to work on weekends and even on holidays, when necessary ? Excellent communication, coordination and presentation skills ? Highly proficient IT skills: MS Office (Word, Excel and Access), Outlook, worldwide web, databases, spreadsheets and PowerPoint ? Ability to work on a variety of tasks at the same time, and to organize and prioritize them, including coping with unpredictable volumes of work and busy periods ? Dependability, reliability and ability to produce work of high quality
Required Competencies and Skills:
? Major in Applied Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counselor Education, Developmental Psychology, or other closely related discipline, ideally with master degree ? Appropriate state or provincial licensure or professional certification ? Experience of providing clinical assessment and intervention experiences, preferably with a college-age population ? Minimum of 2 years previous experience as a staff member in a clinical and/or counseling setting ? Minimum of 300 hours previous experience as a counselor in a clinical and/or counseling setting
