Job Overview The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and fostering strategic relationships with external research institutes and industry partners to further the School’s vision and mission. This role will involve cultivating mutually beneficial partnerships to broaden opportunities for research collaboration and business development. The Research Collaboration and Business Development Manager is expected to lead the development, maintenance, and engagement of research community networks, including participation in the design, delivery, and enhancement of research projects, programs, and activities for the School. Roles & Responsibilities: · Support the School Dean's short and long-term strategic plan to meet or exceed the objectives as directed by the School Management Team. · Support the Director and Deputy Director of the Advanced Materials Science Research Center in establishing and sustaining a robust research and business network - · Promote and facilitate continued research and business development opportunities with existing collaborative research institutes and industry partners. · Expand and diversify the business base by cultivating new research and industrial partnerships. · Engage with existing and potential industry partners to understand and address their needs in research support, talent cultivation, and more. · Support and facilitate the design and development of new programs tailored to industry partners' requirements, market opportunities, and available teaching/research resources. · Explore opportunities with partners for shared facilities, industry placements, internships, project sponsorships, etc. · Manage follow-up activities resulting from interactions with partners. · Conduct formal interactions, finalize, and administer agreements and contracts with guidance from relevant offices. · Develop, manage, and maintain online and offline events and activities. · Strengthen relationships with external partners and related organizations. · Design, implement, and optimize online/offline projects for various purposes. · Identify, leverage, and integrate resources from the School, XJTLU, and beyond. · Collaborate within the School and across XJTLU to facilitate implementation and delivery of strategic plans and new initiatives. · Provides academic administrative support to the Associate Dean of Research and Impact and acts as the administrator to school committee meetings, providing all support required, including document collation and dissemination, preparation of minutes and co-ordination of follow-up actions · Provides academic administrative support to the Chair of School Research Committee and other committees and/or panels reporting to the School Research Committee · Acts as a liaison between the Research Management Office (RMO) and the School to ensure timely proceedings. · Collaborate closely with school academic administrators and academic colleagues with Research responsibilities. · Collaborate with the outreach team to plan and execute advertising campaigns. · Manages and coordinates school-based reviews as assigned by the School Manager. · Coordinates projects as assigned by the School Manager. · Coordinates responses to reviews/audits including periodic, academic and coordinates response to other requests for information from School, University and external agencies. · Contribute to team success by participating in planning, organizing, developing work processes, identifying and implementing improvements, and leading team projects. · Oversee interns and effectively manage their workload · Perform other duties as assigned by the School Manager. · May oversee event management. · May travel as needed. Qualifications: Position Qualification and Requirement Experience Essential Experience in administration Experience in coordinating activities Experience working and contributing as a part of a team Experience in marketing andpromotion Desirable Experience of working in a HE context, preferably in an international environment Experience of serving committee meetings Educational Background Essential Bachelor’s degree At least 2 Years of relevant work experience Desirable Master’s degree Science background 2-year work experience in educational organizations General and specialist knowledge: Essential Sound awareness of cultural diversity within an international environment Desirable Knowledge of UK higher education system Knowledge of issues associated with HE, preferably in an international context.
