The Job
As an Abrasives Test Coordinator Engineer Here, you’ll be part of our ENG team located in Suzhou. You’ll get to: 1. Design validation testing for proposed supplier changes with the abrasives engineering testing lab in Suzhou, China. 2. Coordinate sample builds and testing to support the validation and qualification of products from multiple suppliers using SBD standard practices and procedures. 3. Evaluate product performance by performing hands-on testing using standard and custom power tools and procedures. 4. Analyze test data, draw conclusions, determine next steps, and communicate to internal stakeholders and/or external suppliers. 5. Generate test reports to be shared internally and externally and report out status. 6. Provide recommendations for qualification together with Engineering SME. 7. Develop root cause analysis for test outputs not meeting performance goals/CTQs. 8. Create and maintain engineering documentation such as BOMs, 2D Drawings, Test Plans, SOPs, Cost info, and Specifications. 9. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of multiple projects and scope, ensuring project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately. 10. Work with all requestors to establish sample priorities. 11. Practice best time management techniques to ensure project schedules are met; creating project schedules and action trackers. 12. Act as a liaison between Strategic sourcing, engineering SME, test lab, and supplier.

In fact, you embrace it. You also have: 1. Bachelor’s degree in related engineering discipline required (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering preferred). 2. Excellent project management skills including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. 3. Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on a “hands on” approach. 4. General knowledge in the area of metallurgy. 5. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. 6. Ability to attend regular (occasional) meetings in a global timeframe. 7. Strong computer skills 8. Self-motivated and energetic with a results-oriented attitude. 9. Ability to self-manage while working as part of a collaborative team. 10. Ability to quickly adapt and acquire new skills in a fast-changing environment. 11. Demonstrated leadership, project management, and decision-making skills. 12. Excellent problem solving skills. 13. Organization and time management skills. 14. Comfortable working with a wide range of people. 15. Preferred: 16. Experience in product design/development, preferably in the abrasives field. 17. 3-5 years in related Product Engineering experience. 18. 3D CAD/CAE exposure (CREO and/or Catia preferred). 19. Familiarity with EN, ANSI standards. 20. Windchill or similar PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) skills. 21. Preferred: At least three years of experience in project management, engineering, systems design, or another related field. 22. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
